Queen Mary will fund joint PhD scholarships in cooperation with the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for 2015 entry. The CSC is a non-profit institution under the Ministry of Education China. The CSC administers government scholarships to sponsor Chinese citizens wishing to study abroad.
Under this scheme, QMUL provides a fee waiver to cover all tuition and bench fees and the CSC provides living expenses and one return flight ticket to successful candidates. The funding is provided for up to four years.
Chinese citizens are encouraged to apply under this scheme to the MRes/PhD program at the School of Economics and Finance (see here for details). The MRes program is covered under the scheme and funding will typically be for 1 year of MRes + 3 years of PhD.
Candidates need to apply both at the School of Economics and Finance and at the CSC. For the School of Economics and Finance application, candidates should follow the usual online application process and should indicate that they are applying under the CSC scheme; the deadline is 31 January 2015. The application at the CSC is done separately with the CSC, where different deadlines and further eligibility criteria may apply.
