Peston Lecture

The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary, University of London hosts a public lecture each year featuring a notable figure from the world of economics. The Annual Peston Lecture is named after Baron Maurice Peston who founded the economics department at Queen Mary. 

Speakers in previous years include Tim Harford - English economist and journalist; Baron Peston’s son Robert Peston, formerly the BBC's business and economics editor, now ITV's political editor and; Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England.
