The New ESRC LISS DTP Studentship Competition 2017-18 now open

Published:

Queen Mary University of London is a partner institution in one of the largest Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Partnerships in the country. The new London Interdisciplinary Social Science (LISS) partnership, with King’s College London and Imperial College, will provide over 50 funded ESRC studentships a year across a range of interdisciplinary areas. The Partnership will develop a research community across the social sciences and at the interface between social science disciplines and health and medicine, the natural and physical sciences, engineering and the arts & humanities. The partnership will fund 1+3 (Masters + PhD), +3 (PhD) and Case (collaborative) studentships. Students will have access to a range of training and development opportunities across the three institutions.

The 1+3 and +3 studentship competition for the 2017-18 academic year is now OPEN.  Applications are due by 31 January 2017, 17:00 GMT.

ESRC Collaborative (CASE) Studentships

LISS DTP’s Collaborative (CASE) Studentship Competition promotes partnerships between social scientists at Queen Mary University of London, and end-user organisations (public or private or third sector ‘partner institutions’).  A collaborative studentship (referred to as a CASE studentship) is a PhD studentship in which the student enhances their training by working closely with the non-academic partner in the development of their research project. They are a great way to initiate longer-term partnerships and to ensure the ‘impact’ of doctoral research.

The deadline for applications from academics for 2017-18 ESRC Collaborative (CASE) Studentships is Friday 9 December 2016, 17:00 GMT.

Visit our studentships page on our dedicated LISS-DTP website for more information.
